Matthias Resch, Founding Director
Matthias Resch is one of the co-founders of Community Development International. He has eight years of professional experience in Asset/Liability Management at an international bank in New York City. He has a strong interest in international affairs, human rights and socio-economic development. Originally from Germany, Matthias lived and studied in various countries during his undergrad years. He holds two Master's degrees in Economics and in International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University, a business degree from the International School of Management in Dortmund, Germany, as well as various professional certificates. Matthias currently pursues as Certificate in Urban Agriculture from the organization Just Food in New York City,
In addition to his important role with CDi, until 2013 Matthias coordinated the Energy Project at the United Nations Association of Southern New York, where he also used to head the Young Professional's European Affairs Committee. He is a board member of the UNA Southern NY Division and served as Director of the YP's 2010 Flagship Program PEHT - Partnership for the Eradication of Human Trafficking. Furthermore, he served as member of Social Tap’s Innovative Haitian Solutions Committee, as member of the interim Alumni Council at Global Youth Connect (GYC) and as member of the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs' New Leaders Program. In January 2010, together with CDi core team-members, Matthias has coordinated and led a team of volunteers to provide medical and humanitarian aid to over 250 underprivileged children in post-earthquake Haiti.
He has traveled extensively in Central America, Sub-Saharan Africa, South and South East Asia and Eastern Europe. He speaks fluent English, German, and French as well as some Creole and Spanish.
Kevin Jamison, Founding Director
Kevin Jamison is a co-founder of Community Development International. Kevin has worked on different development projects internationally and various programs in Haiti in specific since 1999. His educational background includes a BA in International Relations with a concentration on Ethnic Conflicts from Old Dominion University and an MA in Government and Politics with a focus on International Law from St. John's University. He studied at John Cabot University and St. John's University in Rome, Italy for a combined four years of his studies. Kevin served as the Director of the European Affairs Committee at the United Nations Association of the USA's Young Professionals in New York City from 2005 to 2010 where he was also a co-founder of the 2009 flagship program "The Haiti Expedition Project," raising awareness and funds for educational and environmental projects in Haiti and bringing a group of young professionals to Haiti at the end of the program year.
Professionally Kevin has worked as a private fine art consultant since 2003, has worked for the Foreign Policy Association and the World Affairs Council on international education programs and projects, and served as Director of Program Development for St. John's University's Center for Global Development. Kevin's interests in international development tend to focus on food security, education, environmental and agricultural issues and he has always used every opportunity to tie in the privileged world of fine art to the underserved world of international development through fundraising and advocacy projects and exhibitions. He speaks fluent English and Italian and has basic capabilities in French, Haitian Creole and Spanish.
